In honor of Women’s History Month and Black History Month (which we refer to as Black History Year) this comic is dedicated to Coretta Scott King, the amazing wife of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We’re quite sure we don’t have to explain how awesome Coretta was, or how awesome black women are in general. But just in case you needed a reminder, black women are the shit. We’re so awesome that other’s try to emulate us, but fail.
Even our characters Kelly and Unique, who are genuinely immersed in black culture, will never be black women. Then there’s Deidre, as much as she tries to deny her ‘blackness’ and as much as she pouts about being over it, she was and still is a Coretta stan. And we don’t even blame her!
Happy Women’s History Month!
